The Awful Evening Post Website

The associated web site of the South Wales Evening Post has been for a long time in need of repair. So it was good to read on Inside Out that it is due to have a much needed makeover.

The site suffers from a lack of news (unbelievably for a newspaper website), is hogged by advertisments, bandwidth heavy due to the prevalance of flash and movies and generally slow and offers crap search facilities.

Any decent newspaper website should be there to complement the printed publication, but all ThisIsSouthWales manages to do is offer a slow, half-arsed mess that is thrown together.

This is all too visible in todays 'News' section for Neath and Port Talbot. Now it's reasonable to just use head-shots of pictures in order to conserve space on a page, but they really can't be bothered today.

Note to Evening Post : The latest version of Photoshop is available from Amazon here. It offers useful cropping and scaling tools that may prove useful for resizing images for web sites.
