The latest round of political spin comes from Swansea Council. This time it's bragging about the fact that there are less beggars on the streets than last year. You've got to wonder where the hell the survey was done?
Did anyone look outside the Quadrant car park? What about the end of the Kingsway by the YMCA ....... anyone see the unfortunates getting pissed up on Special VAT.
However the story has created a very heated argument over at EV Post where some people are also pissed at the Council spin, but also debating whether the EV Post article is victimising homeless people.
They do have a point. One comment says the guy in the picture the EV Post use for their article is not a beggar, but homeless. A big difference.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment is the fact that the council is trying to spin something positive from the unfortunate people of Swansea. Perhaps if the council's Social Services department was functioning correctly then they would be in a position to try and HELP these people rather than try to win political points off the back of them.
