Burnley have lost their manager to Bolton, who sacked theirs the previous week.
Rumours are always rife during January for football transfers and it was only 6 months ago that Swansea got burnt badly by the sudden departure of Roberto Martinez.
But perhaps the most interesting story to come out of all this are the comments that Sousa made today. As reported on BBC Sport website today Sousa has said he is "flattered" to be linked with the job. In fact his quotes are not something that could have been lost in translation, rather more of a sales pitch of his abilities and ambitions :
"My ambition is to grow and I have said I want to go to the Premier League, of course."It would have been more reassuring if he'd at least given an indication that he was not interested in the job and shall be staying at Swansea.
"I am proud to be linked to Burnley. It is very important for me and for everyone to be recognised and it means we're doing well once more."
"I feel this recognition gives me more strength and more energy to keep doing it my way."
"I am very ambitious person and a manager. I have the hunger and desire to improve and this kind of recognition reinforced this energy to follow that road because this is he right road."
"I have not had any contact at all with Burnley and we don't talk about speculation, only when things are done, we talk about the facts - but not about speculation."
Let's just hope its not another case of de ja vu for The Swans.
